A Little Eco Lodge just outside of Nyuang Shwe is surrounded by foliage and organic garden including a small field of budding sunflowers. The bedrooms are spacious, comfortable, and immaculately designed, with long swooping mosquito nets and luscious blankets for the cool nights in winter.

The food is home-grown or directly sourced from the Inle region. The staff are charming. A Little Eco Lodge also runs a small weaving workshop called ‘A Little Loom’ in the next-door building and the ‘A Little Treehouse’ restaurant. You can also buy products from their side business ‘A Little Potter’.

A Little Eco Lodge is located on the edge of Nyuang Shwe and therefore away from the bustle – but not so far that it is impractical for a little evening tipple in the town. The Lodge is also on the road to the Inle Riding Club, a coffee plantation and café, and the starting point for a score of treks.

FLASH POINT: Just down the road from the Lodge is a monastery outside of which one can watch the young novice monks take part in their morning alms collection.
