We are still here! Let us send you tips for travelling through Myanmar and stories from the road …
Starting at Ngapali Beach in southern Rakhine State, cycle down Myanmar’s western coast all the way to Gaw Yan Gyi peninsula in Ayeyarwaddy Region. This route will take you through small fishing villages, along (and literally on!) pristine beaches, passed twinkling pagodas, over large new-build bridges and small, bamboo village bridges.
When cycling is not possible, boats will be arranged to take you over the azure waves from point to point. You will stay at Sampan’s favourite hotels along the coast – enjoying good food, great company and well-deserved rest. You will have an experience local guide to lead you on your way, and a support car in case of tired legs or flat tires.
This journey passes through some very under-developed parts of Myanmar. There is not much elevation, but the road is not always smooth. Travellers should come with an appetite for adventure.
