If not truly an eco-resort, Boulder Bay is certainly low impact, and is true in its claim to offer access to some of the finest beaches of the Mergui Archipelago. The rooms are simple, amenities patchy, and one should not expect hot water – although the pressure in the showers in remarkably strong.
With many of the staff having worked before in Thailand, the service is efficient, but also relaxed. You may well be invited to join the staff horsing around on the hotel kayaks as the sun sets each evening.
